2 cups Anchor Unsalted Butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon almond extract
5 cups all-purpose flour
powdered sugar for sprinkling on top of cookies
Preheat oven to 325°F
Beat Anchor Unsalted Butter and 1 cup sugar in a large bowl with an electric mixer until fluffy.
Add almond extract and beat until incorporated.
Gradually add flour, mixing on low speed until dough is crumbly.
Knead dough by hand for about 3-4 minutes, until dough holds together when pinched.
On a floured surface, roll dough out to ¼-inch thick; cut into 1-inch rounds or other desired shape. Place on baking sheets. Sprinkle cookies with additional sugar.
Bake for 12-13 minutes or until lightly browned.
Cool on a wire rack.
